I am a web designer and developer living in Clacton-on-sea in Essex. I currently work full-time in Colchester creating websites and writing browser based applications using a variety of technologies. This portfolio has been designed to show off my skills using projects that I have undertaken within in employment and freelancing.
After leaving university in 2001 with a first class honours degree in Computer animation and Visualisation. I worked as a print designer which involved occasional web design. My skills at this time were limited but I found working on the internet very fulfulling as it open my eyes to a world of endless possibilites. After 2 years I moved jobs to become a web developer and started to become more involved with dynamic content within websites. I found myself learning and picking up a number of web technologies including Coldfusion, Actionscript, XML to name but a few. This new position allowed me to improve my knowledge and I became more interested with creating updatable content with ease, thus I began developing content managment systems and applications for all the web projects that was involved in.
After a couple of years I found myself wanting to create websites consisting entirely of dynamic content. I moved on to become a web developer with my current employer where emphasis within this role is on database interaction. I have had the opportunity to undertake full website creation from start to finish, front and back end.
Within my own time I have been steadily improving my Flash development skills, in particular Actionscript. I consider my skills to be of a high level and have been creating full flash sites that are dynamic and can interact with datasources either through SQL or XML.
My mission is to show a willingness to learn and keep up to date with the fast evolving world of the internet thus allowing my knowledge and portfolio to progress and develop.
The next goal is to create updatable and reusable components for flash so that time can be spend effeciently and effectively....and so the Flash Extras section has been born! Watch this space!
